Another pack of shows. This time I'm playing before Germany based singer Jenniffer Kae. Even more shows on the way, keep your fingers crossed and we just MIGHT play in POLAND very soon! :)
I wrote a little memoir on the awesomeness of Popkomm/Jakob Dylan shows if you're up for some reading. And here's "Outer Space" live in KulturKirche, Köln for your viewing (?) pleasure. Gotta appreciate the original style of filming the Dead Cameraman has, but maybe he's been working with us for so long, it's time to part ways for artistic reasons. I mean I'm trying here people!

Aug 24 2008 - This Sea - a duet with Voltaire
I've got a very exciting announcement to make. I've been recently asked by Voltaire himself to sing a duet with him on his new record! The song we sing together is called "THIS SEA" and it's a heart-tearing story of two people separated by the Sea - he travels on a ship in search of better life for us, while I wait for him by the shore. Pretty tragic as you can see. How the story ends you'll have to find out by yourself. Obviously I'm biased because I sing on it, but if you still decide to trust my judgment -> BUY THE CD, the song is pretty awesome!
But that's not all - Voltaire also did a cover of my song "Accordion Player" and he's also putting it on his upcoming album. Needless to say I absolutely love his version (he even has a real accordion player in it), basically he made the song his own.
Album is called "To The Bottom Of The Sea" and you're better order one fast - the preorders end in few hours.

I need your help! It's not about voting this time, but listening > go to my last.fm profile http://www.last.fm/music/Julia+Marcell and listen to "Night of the living dead" on the player there. That's it!
We're trying out the vast possibilities of last.fm and maybe if there are many people listening to the song, we have the chance to enter the last.fm charts! So if you feel like listening to the song, listen to it on my last.fm instead here or sellaband or myspace (or the record you own). And if you have extra time on your hands you can inform your friends to take a listen (they may like it!). I will be talking about my Sellaband experience and plans for future as one of the members of Artist Panel during the Sellaband Seminar. The Seminar will take place in Sugar Factory on August 15th - the day of the SellaBration'08; doors open @ 13:00. By "Seminar" I mean many people involved in music business talking about "the future of the music business" and Sellaband and discussing with founders of Sellaband, the Believers, Artists and the audience. Sounds fun! Also the new SAB website will be presented.

I've got some great news - my album "It might like you" is featured this week on VPRO's Luisterpaal which means you can listen (stream) to the whole album for free. You can also vote for the album if you like it, which will be highly appreciated.
Here's a little explanation of how it all works (brought to you by Sellaband, reposted from the forum):
Dear all,
Julia Marcell's album is featured in 3VOOR12 Luisterpaal this week. On that page you can listen/stream her whole album for FREE without having to register anything. However, we would like to ask you to sign up (which is very easy) and rate her album. The website is in Dutch so for those of you who don't speak the language here are the steps you need to follow:
1. Open the page

2. There you will see Julia Marcell's album located on the top, click if you want to listen to the whole album and a new window will pop out.
3. To rate you have to sign up. First click the "inloggen" at right-hand of the navigational menu.

A lot of you have asked me this already, so before you write another email, please read below:
New album "it might like you" is available right now to buy only on Sellaband.com and Amazon.co.uk. We are currently talking to some people to bring it to the European shops, but that will take a while (few months is my guess). The CDs will also be sold during shows, but if you look to your left, you can see yourself how the tour schedule looks like right now - it's non-existent. We are also talking currently to some people to change that (a lot of new people around since the whole "Sellaband thing" started). So, if you want to buy the album, I suggest Sellaband store or Amazon, or, if you don't have the credit card, check back soon for some shows to come.
And thank you everyone who bought the album already and those who wrote wonderful comments about it - YOU ROCK! :)

The release date of the new album is getting closer and closer, it's time to finally make some buzz around it. :) We're starting off with a little promotional campaign: 5 short videos - so called "album teasers" - announcing the upcoming record will be posted on the front page of Sellaband and on Youtube, starting from today - new one every Tuesday. The last, fifth one, however will be posted on the day of album's release. The exact release date will be revealed soon.

Meine Damen und Herren, the recording of my full-length in Berlin went splendid - I have one awesome CD on the way, I tell you! We're very excited to present it to you someday in spring, but until that happens, there's still a lot to do, so stick around and wait for the big announcement to come.
Couple of facts:
- the CD is recorded thanks to the 657 lovely people (called Believers) who invested in it on Sellaband.com
- the album is produced by Moses Schneider (how cool is that!?)
- there will be a limited edition of the CD (with extra content) and a regular one with... well... just songs
- 10 songs are recorded, none of which can be found on my EP "Storm"
- Sellaband will be releasing this album on the internet; it will also be available in stores around Europe eventually
